And I’m just here driving my 09 Impala in the slow lane...

I think, with rare exceptions, it skips generations. My grandmother owned a Shelby Daytona. My mom was a lot more practical with a series of Outbacks. In honor of my grandma, I bought a WRX. :)

Is she offering an apprenticeship? Don’t you think she’d like to bestow some of her coolness into her offspring?
![]() 01/29/2018 at 16:09 |

eh, I think I’m a lost cause on being cool. I’ve been looking at buick lacrosse avenir editions all afternoon... maybe it skips a generation and I’m in for some cool children!

Well that gives me hope for my children!

my mum drives a seat toledo and hits drunks with frying pans (tho.. she does that less often now me dads dead)(that wasnt what killed him)
im probably not as cool (or smart) as her

I mean there’s always time to pick up a good frying pan whacking habit.

Same. Mom owns a bro’d out Silverado and a ‘68 GTO, and is looking at an RS-something to replace her G37.

My mom went from a Mazda MX-6, to a Subaru SVX, to a Subaru 2.5RS 2-dr, to a subaru impreza wagon 5-speed, now she has a Mazda CX-5.
Moms can be cool.

Mom always drove cool cars, had an SRT8 GC at some point during the mid 00’s. Now she drives an S550 because her back hurts a bit.

Hell I got half my interest in cars from my mother. The other half was from dad always rebuilding the POS Taurus they bought in 1988.

im saving it for when i get a burglar (i figure said burglar will thank me for that... as all i have for home defense is a frying pan or me chefs knives)(well... i also have 3 cats i could throw at them i guess)

Wait how did she get a e38 735i? Grey market import? I thought they were a EU offering only.
![]() 01/29/2018 at 16:17 |

one would think that owning a 88 Taurus is enough to turn you off completely from cars.

My mom isn’t cool, but she is a consistent lady. Always Chevy V8 power.
3 Camaros - early 70s, late 70s, late 80s
3 Trucks - ‘92 Silverado, ‘01 Silverado, ‘11 Sierra
‘Murica

Add me to the “not as cool list”. The parents share a C7 Corvette and Wrangler Rubicon, both manuals. I drive an Accord...

my mum got a recaro bucketseat fitted in her toledo to help with backpain
its a bit wierd seeing a recaro in an otherwise bonestock toledo.... but i cant fault the logic
(that said... she’s a doctor so i guess i should have expected her to do something like that)

Whoa, that was way darker than one could’ve imagined.
Internet hugs from a stranger.

In America and my house in particular the metal comes a lot faster than a frying pan.... lol.

I think magnetic is a good colour for the Fiesta ST. Understated.

yeah i figured that..... but i could never safely own a gun (even if i could be arsed to go through the system to own one)
between the nerve damage in my hands that makes my fingers twitch now and then (probably not enough to pull a trigger but sure as hell enough to make me pause videos and stuff accidentally by clicking) and the fact that im very impulsive and get migraines... id end up killing meself.... be it accidentally.. or on a whim
or worse... someone else (tho... if someone else that would be accidentally..)

Aww thanks buddy. I’m good with it, he deserves it an worse to be frank. Waiting for the call that he’s Been shived in the shower to be honest. Multiple account of child molestation, and 100's of counts of possession and distribution of child porn. My self and the world at large will be better of when he is dead.

My parents aren’t nearly this cool. My dad’s response when I first mentioned the Hellcat? “I drove an army truck, a big thing, when I was your age—that thing only had 150 hp, and that was enough!” Then again, his first car when he came to the States was a blue Plymouth Satellite, with an engine powerful enough to pull burnouts if you so much as looked at the gas pedal. One of my side-projects is to figure out which model year he had.
My mom’s not into cars, but she’s wanted a BMW ever since she saw an E12 5-series on the streets of Krakow as a student in communist Poland. I’m currently trying to convince her to buy a BMW when she retires.
On that note, if there’s anyone in the Chicagoland area, or in the southern half of Wisconsin, who has an E12, I would dearly love to take my mother for a ride in one—any way I could work out some kind of rental contract?

Some of us have done a lot of wrenching over the years on crap cars. It gives you perspective on just how awesome it is to have a car that works and you know how to maintain it to keep it in good running condition...

Did you never tell her that your Chrysler was actually a Mercedes?

But the internet told me that frying pans are bulletproof.

My mom went from Ford Escape, or Prius to Hyundai Sonata. So I do not have this problem
Although before the escape she had a pretty cool 2.3l Focus ZTW(Wagon) with a Manual trans.
